In October 1307, a number of Shirazi merchants applied for a permit from the Ministry of Commerce and Public Works to establish a chamber of commerce in Shiraz, and formed the Fars Chamber of Commerce. Following this action, in October 1309, the law establishing chambers of commerce in the country was approved.
